Ashley Wren Collins was born in Westminster, Maryland as daughter to Roger and Carole Collins and younger sister to Whitney Collins. She spent her childhood in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she delighted in ballet until her mother recognized her penchant for delivering oral book reports and promptly signed her up for Saturday morning acting lessons. From the moment she debut ed as a male munchkin in The Wizard of Oz at the age of 9, Ashley became serious about her craft and went on to star in numerous community and high school theatre shows and musicals until she obtained her B.A. in Theatre Arts and English from the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation she moved to New York City, where she worked as an actress in, among many things, the well-received Kathy & Mo Show, and as a successful off- Broadway choreographer of Foxy Ladies Love Boogie 70s Explosion, directed by her frequent collaborator Fritz Brekeller. Ashley then went on to obtain her MFA in Acting from the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater School Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. Strikingly beautiful with her piercing blue eyes, fair complexion and naturally wavy locks, Ashley is an accomplished film, television and theatre actress, touted by her friends and colleagues not only as refreshingly talented, but also warm, friendly, and a consummate professional. Possessing a natural flair for comedy, Ashley also stars in two comedy web series, Suzy & Duddy and Mother Eve's Secret Garden of Sensual Sisterhood. Ashley is the author of two books, Produce Your Own Damn Movie! (Focal Press, 2009), her book with Lloyd Kaufman, and The Cheap Bastard's Guide to Los Angeles (Globe Pequot Press, 2011). She is a frequent contributor to Moviemaker Magazine and has an entertainment blog on The Huffington Post.
